A large and scarce mid-century English Poole Pottery studio vase from the Atlantis range by Guy Sydenham (1916-2005). The vase stands on a narrow rounded unglazed foot with a recessed base and with a rounded bulbous shaped body and tall funnel neck. The hand thrown vase is decorated with a stylized rough cast design in vertical relief with what appears to stems of corn, small flowers and grasses decorated in dark matt brown glazes with the neck decorated in a finely mottled stone colored glaze with mottled brown glazes to the inner vase.
In good condition with a few minor glaze nicks to the body but only evident on close inspection.
