A very stylish and good sized studio pottery stoneware vase decorated in tenmoku glazes on a grey glazed ground with wax resist leafy twig like designs repeated around the body by renowned and highly sought after potter Geoffrey Whiting (English, 1919-1988). The vase of tall cylindrical shape has a slightly narrowing upper body and has potters impressed seal marks along with Avoncroft Pottery marks to the lower rim. Geoffrey Whiting produced work at the Avoncroft pottery in Worcestershire between 1955 and 1972.
In excellent condition.
