Dimensions:
A large and impressive studio pottery stoneware vase with incised and encaustic linear embellishments by Bernard Charles (b.1930) and dating between 1988 and 1996. The hand crafted vase stands on a narrow rounded foot with a wide rounded and shaped body and with two pinched elements to the rim. The body of the vase is decorated with horizontal linear designs decorated in colored glazes on a stone colored ground with sprayed manganese glazes around the inner rim. The foot and base has a blackened finish and the base has an incised makers monogram mark.
