An exceptional and very stylish aesthetic movement Linthorpe twin handled vase by renowned designer Dr Christopher Dresser (British, 1834 – 1904) dating from around 1880. The earthenware vase stands on a narrow round flat cut foot with slightly recessed base and has a wide squat round body with wide tall funnel neck and wide shallow bowl shaped top. The vase has flat top strap handles applied to either side with gathered terminals where they connect to the lower body. The vase is decorated in stunning streaked olive green glazes over a lighter green ground with the customary yellow glazes applied to the inside top and to the base. The vase is marked LINTHORPE to the base and is numbered 957 with the glazes run over the lower edge and gathered around the base.

In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
