Dimensions:
An unusual and stylish antique Swiss Freres Geneve art pottery jug decorated with floral designs dating from around 1900. The jug is very reminiscent in style of the work produced by the various Thoune Potteries. It is lightly potted of simple slightly conical shape with a pinched spout and loop handle and is hand decorated with stylized floral designs with smaller panels set between tall daisy like blooms. The jug is decorated in thick colored enamels set against a brown ground with a white glazed inner jug. The base is incised ‘Gesch-freres Geneve’.
In good condition.
