A very stylish Austrian Art Deco bronze Asian bird catcher figure attributed to Richard Rohac (Austrian, 1906-1956) made in Vienna in the early 1930’s. Rohac spent his early years as an apprentice with Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien and continued to work with them for many more years before opening his own metal workshops in Vienna in 1932. The Style is clearly influenced by Hagenauer using the contrasting polished and black patinated bronze elements with the man stands on a kidney shaped flat base and holding a large net on an extended pole. The figure is not apparently marked.

In good condition.
