A stunning pair antique Italian Neo-Classical gilt mounted bronze handled urns with classical figural friezes probably made for the grand tour and dating from the mid-19th century. These stylish urns stand on a rounded gilded stepped foot with a bronze sectioned stem, the lower section molded with acanthus leaves and the upper section, separated by a gilded ring, molded with winged figures. A further gilded band separates this from the main body of the vase which is a continuous bronze frieze finely relief molded with classical Roman figures of men and women many partially dressed in various occupations and one carrying a tall twin handled vase. The upper rim has a gilded linear patterned flat round platform with a central cylindrical neck with a patterned edge and with ornate handles mounted to either side. Both urns have impressed numbers 282 and both vases have a makers shield mark containing a classical running figure and one has initial marks B & O.N while the other is marked H.B.
