A very finely made Art Deco silver table cigar lighter modeled as a classical Roman lamp and of Aladdin shape by Henry C Davis, Birmingham and made in 1936. Made at the time of Edward VIII (‘the king that was never crowned’) this delightful lamp stands raised on an oval pedestal foot with a raised eagle neck handle molded with an eagle head terminal with the Aladdin shaped body with a screw in removable wick holder a removable funnel with a pincer action measure with flame finial handle. The body of the lighter has an overlay flow design with makers silver assay marks to the foot dating the piece to 1936.
