An unusual pair Arts & Crafts Roberts & Belk Sheffield silver plated ‘cat’ ball end knife rests the design attributed to renowned Scottish born designer Christopher Dresser (British, 1834-1904) and dated 1889. The ball terminals feature strongly on a number of the designs produced by Dresser for Hukin & Heath and is very typically and recognizably in his style with similar use of balls on toast racks and other serving pieces.
