Art Deco very fine quality Continental silver with gold inlaid compact with inset cut sapphire blue gems in the style of Cartier dating from around 1930. This stylish slightly rectangular shaped compact has a panel design body the hinged cover inset with a wide gold band and central raised panel containing nine cut sapphire (untested) blue gems. A similar sprung loaded bar clasp containing four gems depresses to release the cover. The cover is inset with a mirror while the base has a removable surround to insert a powder refill. The compact is not marked but is an exceptional quality item and probably French.
In good used condition with wear commensurate with age and use.
