From a small collection of five Persian hand painted pottery vases is this stylish earthenware rectangular shaped vase hand painted with a bird and a deer amidst flowering stems and dating from the early to mid 20th century. The rectangular vase is decorated on two sides in colored enamels on a white ground one with a bird perched on a flowering stem and the other with a deer running through flowering shrubs with similarly painted end panels with tall flowering stems. The vase has a flat top with a narrow rounded funnel shaped neck and the top is painted with leaves with patterns around the neck. The base is unglazed and the vase is not marked.

In good presentable condition with a minor glaze chip to one corners and to the top rim to the corners with customary firing faults.
