A fine antique Japanese Meiji Imari hand-painted porcelain tea caddy with covers and stand dating from the 19th century. The tea caddy is of rounded bulbous shape with a narrow rounded unglazed foot with a slightly recessed base with a raised narrow rounded opening with an unglazed rim with a fitted internal cover and with a larger slightly domed lid. The caddy is hand painted with floral and decorative panels repeated around the body and with a tapestry style patterned cover. Painted in tones of blue, red and green on a white ground with gilded highlights. The caddy is not marked however comes with a fitted purpose made wooden stand and have not included this in the measurements.
