A good Chinese biscuit pottery glazed incense holder with relief molded figural scenes dating from the late Ming period or later. The incense holder stands raised on a footed pedestal base decorated with scrolling floral designs in low relief. With a narrow rectangular shaped body the holder has five holes along the top with recessed panels to either side one with two Immortals set in a landscape with trees and the other with two Immortals sat at a table with an attendant kneeling at one end. The incense holder is decorated in green glazes with the raised elements showing through the natural color of the pottery. The base is unglazed and has indecipherable black signature marks.

Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market.

In good condition with some minor losses around the base and feet and with signs of wear and use.
