A rare and unusual antique Chinese Yixing teapot of squat rounded form with loop handle and short spout with the top formed like a plate with small loops below the edge. The teapot is decorated in colored enamels similar in style to those applied to metal work and has slightly raised rounded panels around the body. The teapot has a small flat central cover and is not marked to the base.
