A very stylish studio art pottery bowl hand decorated with penguins by renowned artist and potter Tessa Fuchs (British, 1936-2012) and dating between 1970 and 1999. The hand-thrown ceramic bowl is very finely made and stands on a narrow round unglazed foot with recessed base and is of conical shape with the inner bowl decorated with a mother penguin with young in a polar landscape. The pattern has an incised outline and and is decorated in matt color glazes against a pale green glazed ground. The outer edge is similarly glazed with brown patch work elements within the pale green glazes. The base has an impressed circular mark incorporating the TF personal potters mark.
