A stylish and delightful stoneware studio pottery brush pot decorated with a cross hatch design made at the Leach Pottery, St Ives around 1945. The heavily potted brush pot stands on a round unglazed base and is of simple cylindrical shape with a thick rounded finish top edge with the body hand decorated with a cross hatch pattern in brown tenmoku and dark grey glazes the pattern set between simple linear borders running around the body of the pot. The inner pot glazed in grey stone color glazes. This fine quality hand thrown pot has an impressed pottery seal mark to the lower edge.
