Dimensions:
A large and stylish Italian porcelain pair of Hoopoe birds on stands dating from the mid-20th century. The impressive and decorative birds stand perched on a trunk shaped base and are well detailed hand-painted in tones of brown and black and with painted feather detail and facial features. The bases painted faintly with streaks of brown and green. The birds are marked one with ‘Eximious’ and the other marked ‘Italy’.
Provenance: acquired from the estate of Sir Timothy Colman, Bixley Manor.
