A very stylish Lowerdown Pottery stoneware studio pottery vase decorated with stylized flower heads by renowned potter David Leach (British, 1911-2005) dating from around 1970. The hand thrown vase stands raised on a narrow round unglazed foot with recessed base with a wide waisted cylindrical shaped body with a trumpet shaped top. The body of the vase is decorated in brown tenmoku glazes over a light stone grey colored ground with stylized floral designs within the pattern. The tenmoku glazes overlap the upper edge with the inner vase decorated in light stone colored glazes. The vase has an impressed personal seal mark impressed to the base.
