An exceptional quality German Bauhaus inspired art pottery glazed stoneware vase probably dating between 1930 and 1950. The vase is beautifully made of large bulbous shape standing on a narrow round unglazed foot rim with recessed brown stained base. The body of the vase has a textured finish applied with dripped blue and white glazes over a brown ground. The neck is slightly pinched and decorated in similar glazes with a brown edge around the top and similar glazes applied to the inside of the vase. A simply stunning design the vase is not marked and has spent, probably all of its life on display.
In excellent condition with age wear around the foot.
