A stylish pair Italian Murano mezza filigrana win glasses on thorny twisted stems by Salviati & Co founded by Antonio Salviati (Italian, 1816 – 1890) and dating from around 1900. Exquisitely and finely made in the Venetian revival style the glasses have tall rounded edge bowls using a technique which originated from the 16th century in fusing different colored rods to the center of the bowl and trailing these around the body. One glass combines copper with red and lattimo (milky) rods while the other combines twin gold rods with lattimo. Both glasses are very lightly made as is common for this type of glass and both stand on a rounded foot with molded patterned swirl and folded edges with a central clear glass twist stem applied with thorn like petals. The glasses are not marked.
In good condition.
