An unusual and scarce pair Italian Murano art glass dancing couples believed to date from the mid-century but possibly earlier. The figures stand mounted on a large rounded domed base with gold aventurine inclusions and shows a flamenco style couple, the lady in a long flowing dress with decoration worn in her hair and the man in wide bell bottom trousers with piped edging and wearing a wide brimmed hat. The pair of figures is portrayed in identical poses with both formed in clear glass with gold aventurine inclusions one however with the lady wearing a red dress with red features on the man while the other shows the lady in a green dress with green features on the man. The figures are not marked.

Provenance: Landwade Hall, Exning, Suffolk.

In presentable condition with loss to hands on red figure and loss to the head decoration on the green figure. A stunning and rare pair.
