English Early 19th Century Drabware Bowl with Mocha Decoration

A good and highly collectable antique mocha ware earthenware pottery bowl the body decorated with a band with black slip border and a white slip ground with brown brushed landscape patterns in typical mochaware style dating to the early 19th century. The uneven shaped bowl, made in a drab colored clay, stands on a narrow round foot with a continuous pattern band around the outside body of the bowl. The bowl came with a collection of mixed ceramics of similar style including a marble glazed dish we are also offering. The bowl is not marked and dates from around 1820.

In good condition but of uneven shape with some age staining to the white band.

Mochaware although typically not marked.
