An exceptional, large and early French Daum art glass bowl in a mottled orange coloring with wisps of blue encased in wrought iron by Louis Majorelle (1859-1926). This is an early example with pieces from the collaboration between Daum and Majorelle being exhibited at the World Fair in Paris in 1900. We have found examples using the same metal strap work used on this piece dating to 1910. The piece is not signed to the base although some of the early pieces were either not signed or possibly had the signature applied to the lower edge and covered by the metal strapping. The bowl is offered in excellent condition with natural age wear to the metalwork and with wear to the base commensurate with the age and use of this piece,

circa 1900-1910.
