An exceptional quality antique Bohemian hand blown ruby overlay glass vase with etched spiralling and gilded patterning dating from the 19th century. The vase with a trumpet shaped body stands on a solid hexagonal shaped ruby glass base applied with gilded patterning. The body of the vase has two rings around the lower section which has been slice cut with etched spiral designs applied to the cut surface. The fluted trumpet shaped rounded body has two sections where the ruby overlay has been cut away with similar etched spiral designs to the clear glass surface with sections of ruby glass overlay applied with gilded patterning. The vase has a polished pontil and is not marked.
In good condition with a wear to the base associated with age and use.
