A stunning and large English whitefriars glass green ribbon twist art glass vase designed by Barnaby Powell and dating from the 1930's. The large bucket shaped vase has a narrow rounded flat base with a cylindrical shaped body and everted rim with a ribbon-trailed design applied around the body. The series of vases produced by Powell was first made in 1932 and launched at the British Industrial Art Exhibition. This large and less usual example may have been one of the pieces made specifically for that exhibition due to its large an impressive shape and size. The vase has a polished pontil mark to the base and is not signed.

In good unpolished condition with some scratches and marks to the body as might be expected with a piece of this age. A superb display piece.
