A very stylish Art Deco porcelain sculptural figure entitled Naiad mounted on a plinth designed by Frederick M Gertner for Royal Worcester and dated 1926. The figure was produced between 1918 and 1930 and portrays a young nude lady kneeling on a column shaped plinth. The figure is made in white bisque porcelain with fine detail and with pleated long hair resting on her chest. She wears ornamental decoration to her hair which is spot highlighted with gilding. The base is decorated in powder green enamels in a marble styled with gilded outlines and highlights. The base has a printed puce mark and the figure is numbered 2698 and with a date code for 1926.
The figure has a break which has been very well repaired to the lower body and where the hands attach to the plinth. There are minor losses but the repair is almost invisible when viewed from the front and it displays well.
