A stunning and unusual Doulton Lambeth art nouveau stylized trailing ivy design vase by renowned artist Francis C Pope and dated 1905. The stoneware vase is of tall slender and elegant form standing on a narrow round foot with an unglazed base graduating in width towards the top which has a pinched neck and ring shaped top. The upper edge of the vase is decorated with incised trailing ivy like designs painted in brown and green and set against a mottle white glazed ground with green glazes applied around the inside top edge. The vase has impressed makers marks to the base along with incised F.C.P mark for Francis C Pope along with assistant marks for Emily Partington with a date mark f for 1905.
