Set between the panels are exquisitely executed birds perched on branches amidst grasses and flowering shrubs in raised slip designs on a stippled salt glazed brown ground. The vases have a large trumpet shaped top, the neck with fine applied slip decoration. The panels, foot and upper edge of the vases are hand painted in tones of blue, green and brown.
