A very fine and rare Doulton Lambeth silver-plate mounted three piece stoneware cruet set contained in a decorative silver plated stand with spoons and dating from 1881. The cruet set comprises of an open salt with salt spoon, a pepper pot and a lidded mustard pot with mustard spoon presented in an ornate silverplated stand with a central carrying handle. The three stoneware pots are all decorated with incised stylized leaf and floral designs set within beaded borders and hand painted in tones of blue, green and brown. All are mounted with silverplated rims with covers to the pepper and mustard pots. All have impressed Doulton Lambeth marks along with artist marks for A E Eckenstein along with a further unrecorded artist mark and all are dated 1881. The stand has makers marks for Atkin Brothers, Sheffield with one spoon in silver, possibly a later addition.
