A stunning pair Doulton Lambeth Faience Impasto hand painted floral vases by Miss L Rogers and dating from around 1895. The red stoneware vase stand on a narrow unglazed foot with a slightly recessed base and are of squat round shape with a short funnel shaped top. The vases are finely hand painted in thickly applied enamels with a floral cluster on leafy branches, probably Hawthorn, and painted in tones of white, yellow, green and red brown against a red brown ground. Both with turquoise glazes applied to the interiors. The vases have various marks including the printed and impressed makers marks with one including the mark for faience department painted Miss L Rogers.
Provenance: acquired in the British art market.
