A delightful Doulton Lambeth Aesthetic Movement miniature floral pattern art pottery vase by Louisa Ayling and dating from around 1882. The small stoneware vase stands on a narrow round unglazed foot with slightly recessed base and is of bottle shape with a wide squat round body and tall slender neck with a trumpet shaped top. The body of the vase is finely decorated in low relief with flowering grasses repeated around the body and a small simple raised pattern around the neck. The patterning is decorated in tones of blue and green on a deep brown ground with blue glazes applied to the interior. The vase has impressed makers marks to the base along with incised and impressed artist marks for Louisa Ayling and Edith Herapath.
