A very stylish Doulton Lambeth Faience Aesthetic Movement twin handled art pottery vase hand painted with floral designs by renowned artist Mary M Arding and dating from around 1884. The vase of tall bulbous shape with a tapered round body narrowing to a round unglazed foot rim with recessed base. Looped handles are applied to either side of the body and the vase has a funnel shaped neck with a fold over flat top rim. The body of the vase is hand painted with fruiting branches with foliage painted in tones of red, green and yellow on a dark green ground. The handles and inner vase are painted in red-brown tones and has a honeycomb pattern painted to the neck. The vase has an impressed marks to the base along with painted MMA artist mark for Mary M Arding and assistant marks.
Provenance: acquired from the British Art market.
In good condition with some missed painted elements to the rim.
