An unusual and quality Torquay Devon slip decorated art pottery jug decorated with scrolling foliage by Aller Vale Pottery and dating from around 1890. The pottery jug stands on a narrow flat over-glazed base with a round pear shaped body and large formed spout pierced on one side to allow the handle to loop over and rest on the body below. The jug is decorated with thick colored slip with scrolling leaf and foliage designs set against a cream color ground with colored banding around the lower body and upper sections and to the handle. The jug has faintly impressed makers marks along with incised pattern number 648 and B1.

In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
