A fine Georgian English Terracotta Pottery Jug hand painted in the Rosso Antico style by Wedgwood and dating from the early 19th Century. The large jug is finely potted and is of rounded bulbous shape with a round foot rim and slightly recessed base and with a narrow neck and large shaped top with a large pouring spout. A simple loop handle is applied to the side and rests on the top rim. The jug has a natural glazed finish to the inner body with an unglazed finish to the outer body and is hand painted in colored enamels with scattered floral designs with blackened edging. The jug also has a raised double line collar around the neck which has also been blackened. The jug has an impressed WEDGWOOD mark to the base.
In good condition with some very minor age scuffs to the body.
