French antique porcelain triple handled salt in the Bleu Céleste (heavenly blue) design by Sèvres and hand painted by Theodore dating between 1765 and 1778. The salt comprises of three rounded compartments with a central raised triple stem handle and is finely hand painted with panels containing birds with leafy stems and finely painted gilding against a blue ground. The salt has a painted Sèvres mark to the base along with four blue dots for the artist Theodore who operated between 1765 and 1778.

For reference an identical shaped Sèvres salt is illustrated in Millers Antiques Handbook & Price Guide 2018-19, page 30 from the 'Dubarry Service' and dated circa 1771 which coincides with the date line for this piece.
