A large and stunning German porcelain figure if a Kingfisher by acclaimed porcelain makers Meissen and dating from the 20th century. The kingfisher stands raised on tree stump shaped base applied with leaves and small flower heads. The kingfisher is beautifully modelled with wonderful detail and is very finely hand painted in naturalistic colors with wonderful beak and facial detail. The kingfisher has a blue underglaze crossed sword mark to the base and is numbered 2036 and 77228.
Provenance: acquired from the British Art Market.
In good condition with professional restoration to the tip of the beak and to one of the leaves.
