From a collection of white and blanc de chine figures we are pleased to offer this fine German porcelain figure of a garden bird by renowned maker Meissen and dating from the 20th century. The quality figure is heavily made and from the Meissen Weiss range and portrays a garden bird, possibly a wren perched on a leaf and mounted on a round base. The figure is exceptionally well detailed and modelled with good facial features and holding its head to one side. The figure is made in white porcelain with a natural glazed finish and has impressed and underglaze blue crossed sword marks along with the name Weiss and is numbered K205 and 119Y.
Provenance: From a collection of white and blanc de chine figures acquired from the British Art Market.
The figure is offered in good original condition with minimal age wear.
