French Sèvres Porcelain Dish Painted with Floral Blooms by Joyau 1766-

A very finely hand-painted French Sèvres porcelain dish with floral blooms painted by Joyau and dating between 1766 and 1778. The shallow dish of round shape stands on a narrow round foot with a raised edge with a slight fluted shape to the rim. The upper section of the inner rim is decorated with a finely molded basket weave pattern set between a blue painted border applied with gilded highlights with a gilded pattern around the rim. The inner bowl of the dish is hand painted with floral blooms in four varying sized arrangements brightly colored in naturalistic style against the white ground of the porcelain. The dish has puce interlaced marks to the base along with artist marks for Joyau.

Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market.

In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
